Privacy Policy

The short version

GrocerySlash collects the minimum amount of data needed to run the site: your email address if you subscribe to the Weekly Deals Digest, basic anonymous traffic analytics, and standard advertising identifiers used by our ad network. We never sell your email address, and you can unsubscribe at any time with one click from the bottom of any email.

Information we collect

Newsletter subscriptions. When you sign up for the Weekly Deals Digest, we collect the name, email address, and preferred-stores list you submit. We use this only to send you the newsletter and to personalize which deals appear at the top.

Anonymous traffic data. We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which pages are popular and how readers find the site. This includes referring URL, page path, country-level location, and device type. We do not log IP addresses to identify individuals.

Advertising identifiers. Our display ads are served by a third-party ad network that uses cookies and similar technologies to measure ad performance and prevent fraud. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your browser settings or via your operating system's privacy controls.

How we use your information

We use your subscription data to deliver the newsletter you asked for, occasionally survey our readers about which features to prioritize, and re-confirm your preferences once a year. We use anonymous traffic data to make editorial decisions about which stores and categories to expand. We use advertising identifiers only as required by our ad network to display relevant ads โ€” we do not receive personally identifying information back from the network.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with three categories of vendor: our email-sending platform (so we can deliver the newsletter), our analytics provider (privacy-respecting, no individual user tracking), and our ad network. Each is contractually limited to using the data only on our behalf for the purpose described.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. You can request a copy of any personal data we have about you, request that we delete it, or correct anything that's wrong, by emailing privacy@groceryslash.example. We respond within 30 days. If you're a California or EU resident, you have additional statutory rights described in the long-form policy on this page below.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. A session cookie keeps your search and pagination state. Analytics cookies are aggregated and don't identify you individually. Advertising cookies are managed by our ad network and respect your browser's Do Not Track signal where the underlying ad standard supports it. You can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site will continue to work normally.

Changes

We update this policy when our data practices change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes are also announced in the Weekly Deals Digest.
